Burnaby Childcare Centre
The Burnaby Childcare Centre is a 2,016-square-foot permanent childcare facility constructed by Britco for the City of Burnaby.
Designed as a fully accessible facility, the project focused on creating a safe, durable, and high-quality environment for early learning and childcare. Accessibility, construction quality, and energy efficiency were central project requirements, ensuring the completed building met the standards expected of a permanent public facility.
The project demonstrates how modular and offsite construction can be applied to institutional buildings without compromising functionality, accessibility, design quality, or long-term performance. The completed facility received an Honourable Mention at the 2022 Modular Building Institute Awards of Distinction.
